General Topic: Material Science/Physics 

Description of Research: The fellow will perform plasma experiments for synthesizing and/or processing novel materials for army applications. Materials will focus on nanocomposites including metallic nanoparticles, nanodiamonds and other nanomaterials. Through this project, the student will also learn baseline materials characterization techniques, including X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, gas sorption, particle size analysis and thermal analysis.
