What AEOP program(s) did you participate in?

GEMS, JSS and eCYBERMISSION

Words of Advice?

If you are thinking about enrolling into a program, do so. Also, when you enroll, if the activity is a competition,
please manage your time wisely. I made the mistake of not doing so in a competition and had to learn the hard way.

Best Things about the Program?

In GEMS, I got to experience hands-on science that opened my mind to the possibilities of STEM. In JSS, I was able
to get my creative juices flowing while also consistently problem-solving. Lastly, in eCYBERMISSION, I was able to participate with other students my age, while participating in a science fair, in which my school only allowed eighth graders to participate in the school science fair.

How Participating in AEOP Inspired You to Advance in the STEM Field?

Participating in AEOP showed me how cool the STEM field could be. From programming a light sensor to change colors to researching dredging on the Conowingo Dam, I have learned about different professions and different fields of STEM.

Who is Your Favorite STEM Role Model?

I admire Ada Lovelace. She was one of the first computer programmers and inspires me to also be a computer programmer

What are Your Future Hopes and Dreams?

I hope to become a penetration tester. This is someone who is hired to hack into a company’s website to test the website’s security.
