Words of Advice?

AEOP programs are fun and interesting for people at any age. I’ve visited many different bases through AEOP programs and have learned about a new STEM profession each step of the way.

Best Things about the Program?

There are many types of people in GEMS that can help you toward finding the right career. GEMS introduces participants to people that not only make learning enjoyable, but also help you discover new things. In GEMS you can find other students who want to learn more about science just like you. When I participated in this program in Alabama, I met so many other students like myself who were excited by and passionate about STEM.

How Participating in AEOP Inspired You to Advance in the STEM Field?

Originally, I was planning on going into Astronomy, but during GEMS I learned about many different STEM-related fields, which expanded my thinking. GEMS exposed me to all types of backgrounds that I didn’t even think existed.

Who is Your Favorite STEM Role Model? Why?

My favorite STEM role model was a teacher that I had in GEMS New Jersey. He was a fun and inspiring person.

What are Your Future Hopes and Dreams?

I hope to go into Engineering or the Biomedical field since I find both topics so exciting.
