Tell Us about Yourself

I am participating in robotics, Junior Solar Sprint and learning about medical technology with the Technology Student Association.

What AEOP program(s) did you participate in?

Gains in the Education of Math and Science (GEMS), Junior Solar Sprint (JSS)

Words of Advice?

One piece of advice for someone who is contemplating enrolling in an AEOP program is to have fun and learn some new things. This program really helps you learn more about STEM than any other program I have attended.

Best Things about the Program?

One of the best things about the programs I have participated in was all the hands-on activity. At GEMS, we got to assemble a robot and program it to go through an obstacle course. Another one of best thing at GEMS was playing with these mini circular robots and having competitions. At TSA, my team and I got to build a Junior Solar Sprint car which was also really fun.

How Participating in AEOP Inspired You to Advance in the STEM Field?

Participating in AEOP inspired me to advance in the STEM field by teaching me how to program a robot, a skill that I later used in TSA because I chose to sign up for robotics. I programmed my robot for the competition and my team and I placed 4th in the regional competition.

Who is Your Favorite STEM Role Model? Why?

My favorite STEM role model is Brittany Wenger because she created this incredible computer-based program that helps detect if someone has breast cancer.

What are Your Future Hopes and Dreams?

My hopes and dreams are to get into a great college and become either an accountant or a radiation therapist.
