Words of Advice?
Go for it! I’ve had some opportunities that I never would have had if I hadn’t participated in eCybermission. I learned so much from competing in these competitions. Due to these experiences, my confidence in myself has greatly increased, which has opened even more opportunities.
Best Things about the Program?
We are a STEM in Action Grant Awardee team this year. Because of our participation in eCYBERMISSION and with help from congressman Bergman, we met with the Environmental Protection Agency in Washington DC to discuss our projects. We met with them about growing different plants in stamp sand and using stamp sand as a fine aggregate in concrete.
How Participating in AEOP Inspired You to Advance in the STEM Field?
I have learned about many opportunities for STEM that have to do with the U.S. Army, which was very interesting to me since I was interested in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Participating in AEOP programs has also opened my eyes to many other careers that I had no idea about before.
Who is Your Favorite STEM Role Model?
Albert Einstein. He didn’t care that he was different, he just wanted to make the world a better place and did so through STEM.
What are Your Future Hopes and Dreams?
I hope that one day there will be world peace, and that no one will be discriminated against, no matter their race, gender, sexuality, etc.
