What are you doing now?

I’m a sophomore Chemical Engineering major minoring in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, and Japanese, currently doing medical research and nonprofit management and consulting.

What are the best things about the program(s) in which you participated?

Being able to meet other students who are either looking for their right career path or showing their devotion to STEM from previous projects was a real highlight. Also, by having direct communication with my educators, administration, and mentors in the program, I was able to ask the many STEM questions that I had.

How Participating in AEOP Inspired You to Advance in STEM?

Taking part in UNITE exposed me to college coursework and engineering options for the future, and introduced me to the field of STEM which I now devote myself to.

What are Your Future Hopes and Dreams?

I anticipate learning more about engineering, technology, and education within the field in order to transform my experiences into a curriculum for aspiring engineers and educators.

Words of Advice

Taking part in STEM extra-curricular and co-curricular activities will advance you further than you would go within your regular school curriculum. Being able to expand your horizons through STEM application and understanding will help you come to a personal understanding of what you want your end-goal to be.
