What AEOP program(s) did you participate in?
What are you doing now?
I am a Junior in high school with a passion for STEM education reform and engineering.
What are the best things about the program(s) in which you participated?
Participating in eCYBERMISSION helped me gain vital skills and learn valuable lessons. For me, the ability to take a problem that affects a community and develop a much-needed solution was the best part. Through eCYBERMISSION my team and I connected with members of a community and built valuable relationships. Our team then worked with the community to research, develop, test and refine our solution.
Why are you excited to be on the AEOP Alumni Leadership Council?
STEM education reform has been a top priority for me over the years, particularly one that is universal in nature and accessible to a wide range of students. AEOP programs can the answer to this. AEOP is home to a range of programs, each catering to a different type of student. The accessibility and educational distinction of programs like AEOP prove to be a valuable tool for students. Hands-on STEM experiences give students new outlets to apply the concepts they’ve learned on paper, while also developing their problem-solving skills. I am excited to be part of the AEOP Alumni Leadership Council so I can implement and raise awareness about AEOP programs in schools across the United States to give students the chance to find the program that is the right fit.
