Tell Us about Yourself

I am a senior at Miami Beach Senior High, where I am conducting independent research regarding diabetes in relation to muscle movement at Mount Sinai Medical Center. I plan to become a medical researcher after college and medical school. Most recently, I participated in the Virtual Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair.

What AEOP program(s) did you participate in?

eCYBERMISSION

Words of Advice?

I would push everyone to enroll in an AEOP program as it houses such a supportive, inspiring group of alumni and participants! I would also encourage participants to take advantage of every opportunity within the programs, as they are extremely valuable educational and social opportunities.

Best Things about the Program?

The greatest part about eCYBERMISSION was the opportunity to form many connections with my peers who are also interested in STEM. I keep in touch with many of the people I met and we continue to learn from each other.

How Participating in AEOP Inspired You to Advance in the STEM Field?

AEOP inspired me to advance in the STEM field by fueling my desire to participate in science competitions. I also felt far more driven to conduct independent research.

If You Could Meet One Person Living or Dead, Who Would You Choose? Why?

I would like meet Jacques Cousteau, to ask him about his invention, the Aqua Lung. I’d also love to discuss his marine conservation attempts, and chat about how far scuba and marine conservation has come since his death in 1997.

What Are Your Future Hopes and Dreams?

I hope to have a medical career that helps to improve people’s lives. Although I am not completely sure about the exact direction of my career, I hope to achieve fulfilment by helping of others.
