Tell Us about Yourself

I’m in 11th grade and in my first year of the IB program. I’m hoping to major in computer science.

What AEOP program(s) did you participate in?

GEMS

Words of Advice?

Don’t be afraid to enroll. Regardless of your interest level in STEM, AEOP programs are interesting and massively beneficial.

Best Things about the Program?

The best thing about GEMS was the huge amount of hands-on lab work that we performed, which really helped deepen my understanding of what it means to work in a STEM field. I also loved all the opportunities for collaboration and group work.

How Participating in AEOP Inspired You to Advance in the STEM Field?

Participating in AEOP showed me that you can do so many different things within the various STEM disciplines.

Who Is Your Favorite STEM Role Model? Why?

Ada Lovelace. I think she’s a great example of how we can see the future through STEM, and it’s amazing how she foresaw what the computer would become.

If You Could Meet One Person Living or Dead, Who Would You Choose? Why?

I’d like to meet Paul Erdős. His level of collaboration with other mathematicians (and of course his mathematical brilliance) is fascinating to me.

What Are Your Future Hopes and Dreams?

I hope to be able to use STEM to positively impact the world.
