What AEOP program(s) did you participate in?

Science and Engineering Apprenticeship Program (SEAP)

What are you doing now?

I am a freshman at The University of Pennsylvania School of Engineering and Applied Sciences studying Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering with a concentration in Nanotechnology. I am currently performing research in the Shu Yang Research Group in constructing bistable, biocompatible soft actuators for use in soft robotics. I am also on the ChemE Car Team, a competitive team focused on powering, governing and stopping a small motor vehicle exclusively through chemical processes.

What are the best things about the program(s) in which you participated?

The ability to research closely with and learn under excited and dedicated mentors, as well as the full immersion into STEM research in a U.S. Army setting.

Why are you excited to be on the AEOP Alumni Leadership Council?

I want to help publicize AEOP and raise awareness for high school students so that they are aware and excited about the opportunities they have at their age in the STEM community.
