What AEOP program(s) did you participate in?

Gains in the Education of Math and Science (GEMS), Science and Engineering Apprenticeship Program (SEAP), Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (JSHS)

What are you doing now?

I am a junior at Columbia University studying mathematics and computer-science on the pre-med track.

What are the best things about the program(s) in which you participated?

I loved doing hands-on scientific activities during the summer and meeting other young people with my interests. The mentors were outstanding, and in particular I got to explore engineering and robotics, subjects not available at my high school. At JSHS, I was able to present my own research.

Why are you excited to be on the AEOP Alumni Leadership Council?

I loved participating in AEOP programs, and I want spread my enthusiasm. I have lots of ideas for promoting AEOP to students, especially to those who don’t come from science-specialty schools. I am particularly excited to serve for the Ambassador Program and promote AEOP directly throughout my community.
