General Topic: Computer Science 

Description of Research: Intern will conduct research on artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) techniques for computer vision and scene perception. Tasks include implementing algorithms for object detection, creating benchmark data consisting of training/validation/testing sets, and evaluating algorithm performance. Experiments include investigating training with mixtures of real and synthetic data, and comparing performance between different models. The internship will primarily involve algorithm development, but may include participation in data collection and field test.

    The eCYBERMISSION Mini-Grant is intended to support teachers/program leaders as they implement eCYBERMISSION with their teams. Educators (formal and informal) of students in grades 6-9 are encouraged to apply. Special consideration is given to Title 1 schools and to those with underserved/ under-represented populations.
