The High School Apprenticeship Program (HSAP)/Undergraduate Research Apprenticeship Program (URAP) is a commuter program for high school juniors and seniors and Undergraduate students who demonstrate an interest in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) to work as an apprentice in an Army funded university research laboratory. HSAP/URAP is designed so that students can apprentice in fields of their choice with experienced scientists and engineers full-time during the summer or part-time during the school year.
Funding available, HSAP/URAP will begin accepting applications on 1 February 2012. The 2012 university laboratory sites have not yet been identified. Please do not wait for this list to post to apply to HSAP/URAP. Interested students should apply online by clicking the "Apply Now" button on the menu and specify which HSAP/URAP locations they are interested in. If an HSAP/URAP laboratory is funded at one or more of your specified locations and you meet the minimum program qualifications, your application will be forwarded accordingly. All applications are due by 1 April 2012.
Please note: HSAP/URAP is for commuting students only. It is NOT an in-residence program. No housing allowance or meal plan is provided. Please be sure to apply for only university laboratories that you are able to commute to daily.
